General Summary
This position will lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects in support of Service Solutions goals and
objectives. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will provide guidance to the leadership team in the deployment of
continuous improvement concepts. The individual will help to identify improvement opportunities and the resources
necessary to accomplish planned improvements. The incumbent will lead, coach, and mentor multiple improvement teams
to affect rapid change. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement Continuous Improvement methodologies to help the business achieve its goals and objectives.
Improvement projects are likely to focus on the product development cycle, manufacturing processes, sourcing
initiatives and supply chain optimization.
- Establish new processes that remove waste and focus on key customer requirements.
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring in Continuous Improvement concepts and techniques.
- Employ leadership and project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the
objectives in the charter.
- Function as a change agent. Continuously challenge the way things are done. Promote creativity and
out-of-the-box thinking.
- Share and standardize best practices and processes.

Knowledge and Certification
Required
- BS Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline.
- Experience working in manufacturing operations (5 yrs min).
- Practical experience applying Lean Manufacturing concepts (3 yrs min).
- Strong statistical and analytical problem solving skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (or equivalent).
Preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
Skills
- Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills to all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, Minitab, Visio, Baan/other ERP system.
Abilities
- Proven ability to solve problems and improve processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
