SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Supplier Quality Engineer, Coatings Specialist is responsible for developing, optimizing, and continuously improving a
coatings quality system to assure that all JAC products internally as well as externally meet or exceed our customer specifications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Assure the primary role of overseeing quality related products focusing on painted products including selection, development, and supervision of the coatings suppliers.
- Develop and maintain internal, supplier, and customer satisfaction indexes including solving customer concerns, defect analysis, utilization, and first time capabilities.
- Implement annual cost savings initiatives internal as well as external focusing on best coating practices within the industry.
- Investigate and benchmark innovative coatings technology within the organization as whole.
- Auditing current coaters assessing risk management of coatings focusing on the threats, opportunities, weaknesses, and strengths of all coating suppliers.
- Working in tangent with the purchasing department assuring supplier placement and feasibility.
- Develop an internal defect identification and analysis system pertaining to supplier related quality reassuring a greater level of proficiency in determining root causes.
- Develop internal as well as external paint training increasing a higher level of problem solving initiatives.
- Work in tangent with the quality team assuring best practices pertaining to paint related coatings.
- Benchmark and develop an internal business plan focusing on in house coatings initiatives reducing potential logistical overhead.
- Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices such as; utilizing personal protective equipment and proper attire in keeping with safety standards.
- Comply with all ISO/TS 16949 & ISO-14001 procedures and work instructions related to your job description.

- Bachelor Degree or equivalent
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Minimum 5 years of paint operations or paint technology
- Minimum 5 years of automotive paint specifications and requirements
