Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As I near the end of my term as chair of the ASQ Ann Arbor Section 1010 at the end of 2018, I would like to thank all the members who have participated in our monthly section meetings.  We are an active section in Region 10 and have had a good year.  We have had a wide variety of presentations ranging from The Psychology of Continuous Improvement, Reliability Physics, ISO and Risk, Success Every Time, to the Gordie Howe Bridge, and a presentation on Statistical Errors.

We will finish the year with presentations on Complex Root Cause Analysis using the NASA Columbia Shuttle Disaster as an example, Quality Workforce and Retention, and finishing the year with Moral Issues of Autonomous Vehicles.  We will open 2019 with a presentation on Linear Regression.

We initiated a new program of a raffle of all the attendees for the whole year with the prize being a one year paid membership to ASQ.  The first winner of the annual raffle was Donald Jordan.  We also increased our social responsibility activities when several members joined the team at Gift of Life Michigan for the 5K LifeWalk on Belle Isle to support organ donation and to thank Gift of Life for the free use of their conference center for our monthly meetings.

We look forward to an exciting year next year with the addition of some education courses or prep courses for ASQ certification exams along with some plant tours for a change of pace.  Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you,
Dr. Michael Hagan, MHSA, CMQ, CQA
