Monday, December 7, 2009 DQE: Design, Quantity, Engineering Network and Responsibilities: Leading the way into the 21st century Mike Reasoner Abstract This presentation will begin with the Definition of DQE. The Benefits of a centralized Person/Global Network concentrating on Design Robustness, Quality and Engineering Activities. What the DQE Vision looks like in a form of a Network, Personnel and related Roles and Responsibilities within that Network. The Process the Design follows (pre-) and (post) change as well as the Tools to execute the Methodology within any type of Company/Product. Topics include the introduction of the Transfer Function and its benefits to the DQE. The Benchmarking Process using the Transfer Function thereby identifying the "Best in Class" Design in the Market representing the "Voice of the Customer". The QFD Process, Linked to the DFMEA. How the Transfer Function feeds the DFMEA. Establishing your Corporate Rules for "SC/CC's" within your Company Globally. The Process used for determining SC/CC's Mathematically for print and downstream processes. How the SC/CC's identify the risk thereby addressing the Pre-Tooled Stage and the Post Tooled Stage. The process used by the DQE for determining the Dimensional requirements for drawings, Standards, Templates for Components and Assemblies. The Final Output of the DQE which is the Blueprint and the Resulting Robustness output report, the DFMEA. In closing, how the Feedback from downstream processes filters back to the DQE Network and the resulting DQE Internal Papers.
