Morris, ASQ Section 1010 current Education Chair. Mark is looking for volunteers to help him with the Education Chair duties. ASQ Ann Arbor Section 1010 Chair's MessageDear Colleagues and Friends: Greetings to you all. It is an honor to serve you as Chair Person in my second term. I hope that you have enjoyed our General Member Meetings and other offered events last year. I also hope you are having a good summer. As we enter into the new Fiscal year 2011-2012, we have some challenges ahead of us. Our main focus remains on continued membership growth and retention, but we also need to ensure that Section 1010 remains vibrant and active to attract members. Our September Kick Off General Member Meeting (in concert with Greater Detroit Section 1000 and ASQ Automotive Division) is currently being planned. Information about the Topic/Speaker and the Location will be posted as soon as it becomes available. Dr. Jay Zhou, our Programs Chair, has, once again, created a wonderful schedule of speakers for the October 2011 through May 2012 meetings. With a few exceptions, these meetings will be held on the First Monday of the month at Cleary University, Ann Arbor Campus from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. As always,there is no charge for attendance and everyone is welcome. Please stay tuned for more detailed information. I encourage your active participation throughout the year,as it is the open sharing of ideas, knowledge, and experiences with our peers that makes ASQ a unique and very special professional organization. Mark A. Morris, Education Chair, is planning to offer a series of refresher courses to support various ASQ Certification Examinations, as well as other educational programs. Section 1010 is the chapter centered in Ann Arbor. You don't need to be a member of ASQ or the section to participate in meetings, certification exams, or educational programs, but membership does provide added benefits. Most events are scheduled between September and May, though the leadership team works throughout the year, and volunteers and suggestions are always welcome. All of the currently scheduled events are at the Ann Arbor campus of Cleary University. The campus is at 3601 Plymouth Road, on the north side just west of US-23.
